Never had any issues until the new np. She was extremely rude. I had blood work done and this was to be a follow up. I was told I have kidney cancer (which I found out about two weeks earlier from a different doctor) she then told me if I had done the cancer screening cologuard maybe it would t have been missed. First cologuard had nothing to do with kidney cancer. I explained I don’t have a lot of time today and just needed to get back on my cholesterol meds. She informed me my job was not as important as hers. I then stood up to leave and she said see you in 6 months I said doubtful she then screamed at me wanting to know what I had called her. Smh last time I will be there. Dreadfully miss Willey she was fabulous and then she left.
Friendly staff good Doctors and awesome Nurses plus you can get your Labs done there
I recommend not getting involved with this establishment. Constant turmoil and difficulty with professionalism, Convenience does not outweigh the need for consistent, good care. .
I have nothing but negative things to say about this so called “care provider”. I’ll start from the beginning. I called to make an appointment to establish primary care, moving from Winchester to this area I would have preferred to have my primary care closer by. I have a long, complex medical history, so before making an appointment I asked the receptionist if the providers here would be able to continue writing my current prescriptions and take on multiple complex chronic health issues. I am also a Registered Nurse of 10 years. She said that they would request my records from current primary care and specialists, the provider would look them over before scheduling my first appointment, to which I agreed. I signed all the forms to have my records faxed and a few days later the receptionist called me to schedule the appointment. So I went…and it was the most pathetic waste of my time. First, my appointment was scheduled at 1:00 PM. I arrived at 12:45 to be sure there was no additional paperwork to complete. There were not any other patients in the waiting room and the parking lot was empty. I waited until around 1:25 and kindly asked the receptionist if she knew how much longer it would be before I was called back, as there was NOBODY else there. The receptionist responded with “why? Do you have somewhere else to be?” I am a work from home employee using my meal break to come to this appointment… I said “yes, work”….I then asked if they had WiFi I could use to check my work email and messages….nope, no internet except for staff only. The receptionist left the front desk to see how much longer it would be and then I was immediately called back by the medical assistant. The NP David Bowers comes in and immediately says “let’s talk about these medications you’re on”. His manner was so rude, I already knew this wouldn’t be a positive interaction. He starts drilling me stating “these are not medications primary care providers prescribe”….well, sorry sir but these are the all the medications my current primary provider put me on and have been on for over 2 years. No narcotics or controlled substances. He was acting as if I was lying about the medications I was taking, it was so hostile. He told me he would not prescribe my sleep medication as that was an off label use, and I would need to see a psychiatrist. I have no psychiatric issues. He then said he would not prescribe my blood pressure medication and I needed to see a cardiologist, to which I responded I had done before and had been cleared of cardiac issues. He could see that if he reviewed my records. He also would not prescribe my hormone replacement I have been on for 6 years since my hysterectomy surgery. Obviously he did not review my medical records prior to this appointment like the receptionist told me he would, like any competent provider would. The reasoning for all my prescriptions is clearly outlined in my medical records. I even had all specialist records faxed as well to get the full story. He was just so rude to me and I can’t get over it. I got up and said “obviously this isn’t going to work” and I left. I really got the impression he hates women and would not take the time to listen to my issues. Not exactly the qualities I want in a primary care provider. I feel really bad that this is the only medical provider in this little community and others may not have the means to travel further for primary care, because this was really pathetic. I hope Mr. Bowers finds himself in need of compassionate medical care one day and doesn’t get it….have the life you deserve.
Heather Willey is the best! She not only goes above and beyond to ensure my well being she also encourages me to make healthier choices. She is very personable and speaks in layman terms making it much more easier to understand. The best thing though is that your not rushed thru the appointment. She takes the time to spend with me until I have no more questions. She deserves a medal for putting up with me. I could go on and on but I'll just say one last thing!! Twice now I've needed immediate care called the office. I was seen within two hours! That does not happen at other docs I've had!
