Community Health Service Agency, Inc. of Hunt County, The operates the following service delivery sites. All locations provide care regardless of ability to pay.
I always had a decent experience until recently I needed a referral to a specialist for what can be serious, waited over a month. As a last resort switched doctors and now have my referral. My health means more to me than that.
I didn’t have much interaction with the front desk but they were friendly. Teresa was one of my first impressions of the clinic and she is truly a light with a beautiful welcoming spirit. She called on me within five minutes of me arriving even with a room full of ppl. I really enjoyed my experience and it set the tone for my whole visit. Gracie was sweet, attentive, and thorough. Dr.Brooks was awesome and very helpful with explaining my options to me. Bernice was very informative and provided a ton of needed resources. I appreciate the office and the service that was provided. Please keep up the awesome work.
Called due to being late bc of school and was told it would be fine. Showed up 13 past scheduled appointments and after being told it was fine and making it they waited longer than I was late to tell me I had to reschedule. Seriously a joke and something always happens just like the week prior they had me and my kid waiting for over an hour after bringing us back bc the doctor was on the phone. Just really insane and unprofessional.
Providers are terrific, front office staff is helpful and knowledgeable. Waiting area is client-friendly. Onsite lab and pharmacy are convenient and the technicians are awesome. This would be a 5 star review but for the clinic policies / politics. Appointment times are extremely hard to get (more than a month, so forget it if you get sick and need to be seen) and if you are late at all (i.e. 6 minutes), your appointment is cancelled (zero grace period). Also, if you have insurance or don't qualify for income-based fees, you will pay much more going to this clinic than going to an independent doctor.
Top Notch Care. Difficult to become a patient because there tends to be a wait list, but once established appointments are easier to come by. Sometimes they are in and out and other days, you wonder why you go here. They do accept most insurance policies, self-pay, and even have a low income program if you need financial assistance in paying for your doctor's visit. After you are established they can even let you start a payment plan if needed. Even having only a few dollars they will let you see a doctor and can bill you later for the the remainder of your balance. Their fee includes lab work. This is nice if you are used to blood work or urinalysis fees. They include those extra fees in the initial cost so you know up front what you will be paying. Elizabeth Bates, APRN, FNP-BC at Carevide in Kaufman is an excellent provider. The nurse Destiny is also very kind. I highly recommend this Carevide location if you live nearby. I have never felt hassled because of my health issues or my weight, but rather informed of the best ways to take care of my medical needs. When needing a prescription refilled, if the pharmacy does bot request it, there is a nurse who will take care of getting it together for you. They have an on-site pharmacy for more expensive medicines or drugs that are harder to come by at a lower cost than the traditional pharmacy. Learning about your lab results take about 3 days to a week in which they will call with no news is good news or the bad news. If additional meds are beeded based on the results a follow-up visit is sometimes needed or you will be given new meds. They send the scripts to the pharmacy of your choice for you. There are other qualified medical professionals to choose from there as well if coming for the first time. The environment is clean even during higher traffic times when more patients are present. Their holiday decor is on point. This is a 4 star review instead of a 5 because of the long wait times which occur from time to time.
