While visiting friends on this part of the Island, our daughter lost a battle with her surf board. She dislocated her should and broke the humorous bone just below the shoulder joint. Costa Salud was our first stop. A x-ray showed we were headed for surgery with an orthopedic surgeon. All the staff was fantastic. Dr Stephanie Ramirez-Moreu was incredibly helpful. They were able to get her pain under control and us in contact with the next step for our daughter's repairs. Thank you so much.
I went in for a few sea urchin spines stuck in my toe. They took me back quickly to be looked at even though it wasn't very urgent. Staff was very helpful and accommodating of my poor ability with Spanish. I was in and out in probably an hour and a half and would definitely go back should I need to.
We were here visiting for a week. Had to go get checked out. There was a wait just like any ER visit. I have to say how nice, knowledgeable, and friendly all the staff was. The experience was very good! Thank you!
So let me start with this, the doctors and nurses are kind, they are not rude or disrespectful. The administrative staff often acts like you are the biggest inconvenience on the face of the planet. Do not bother calling, you will literally call 10x before someone answers Here's my issue, and I literally tried to reach out to get this solved internally, but I want to warn other people. I have an immunocompromised child/family. If we go here healthy, and seeking a check up, my child gets extremely sick, then we have to go back and she gets MORE sick. Why you ask??? they do not sanitize. maybe its because I was raised in the states (born here tho and my family has been here since forever as we are indigenous to the island) but they do not sanitize the chairs, especiallu in pediatrics. The exam rooms are really unexpected and unclean in my opinion. The only place I have seen some one cleaning is a bathroom. They do not clean in between patients. Therefore, EVERYTIME WE GO my child gets sicker, sicker, sicker. I am talking, micoplasma, bronchitis, random cold, crusty eyes, congestion etc. if you have an appointment be prepared to wait no less than 3 hours. It takes forever! thus giving a 5 year old ample opportunity to get sick because we are shuffled from room to room in the longest process I have ever expereinced, exposing her to the germs of everyone in there. Nary an individual with sanitizer. I have only seen one sanitizing station. No tissues available. It is just not sanitary and they take forever. they are nice, but the administrative staff loves to make you feel like youre doing something wrong. I even purchased private insurance to see if that would change anything it doesnt. I am getting ready to go back for the FIFTH time this week because my child keeps getting sicker, and sicker, and sicker with every visit. It is like the only show in town tho so let me give you some tips if you are going with children: -Bring LARGE amounts of hand sanitizer/disinfectant -bring your own tissues -bring things for your child to be entertained because you guys will be there for hours -get there at the crack of dawn just to be told to come back again later -call off work and cancel all appointments because it isnt gonna happen -be ready to come back several times, as things are all separated by department. So the wait time is out of this world. I am talking getting there at 1pm and not leaving until after 6pm and STILL needing to come back and PAY AGAIN for another appointment -you cannot reach the doctor OR a nurse by phone, you will have to call several times My proposed solutions: -Hire a sanitizing crew and clean in between patients. -Allow people to wait in the car and CALL them when it is time to come in so they do not get sick or expose others to their sickness -streamline the different departments (LAB, XRAYS ETC) so that things can be done swiftly and not add another couple hours to your experience with an already sick child. -Create a separate waiting room for HEALTHY children. I understand if this is too much for the adults, but kids with covid, flu, micoplasma, bronchitis, any variation of infectious sickness are all in the same waiting room, with no tissues, no sanitizer, an often locked bathroom. -pay administrative staff & cleaning staff more. Pay everyone more so they can do more for their job I have to go back in a little while and I am wondering what new sickness my child will collect today. Considering all types of alternatives because this is intolerable. once again: doctors are caring, kind, and attentive. Obviously overworked. it is not their job to clean. I love living back here on my island with my people but this process could use improvement. didnt want to blast everything out on google with my name and all that but I couldnt get in touch with an administrator to handle my complaint. now yall know.
I arrived at this emergency room today with a true emergency. I was in anaphylactic shock. These fine doctors and nurses attended me with such great care. Saved my life and i am so grateful. Thank you to all of the well trained staff of nurses and doctors for the life saving treatments they gave me and also so respectful even though my Spanish is terrible. Bless you all.
