This not fair. The dental and medical need to have separate reviews. I'm giving 5 Stars ONLY to the medical side. They deserve it. The dental gets a 1. Read on. The medical part is fabulous!! The staff is friendly, they joke around with you, and the most important part: They are highly skilled, competent healthcare providers. You may wait a few minutes in the exam room but it's because they spend time with their patients, you are never rushed out. I was put on 2 protocols that other doctors missed. They respond quickly to questions asked and email. I'm a former ICU RN and Ive worked with many doctors and nurses. This place is where I've been going for nearly 7 years and I highly recommend them. Now for the dental side. The dental is horrible! I needed dentures and was told that I needed a prior authorization. I didn't, asked them to call the insurance company, they said no. I asked how long it would take and they said 6 months. I'm not exaggerating. I found another dentist, however, I was curious so I called 8 months later just to ask if they ever got it and they received 5 months earlier and never let me know. The staff is not nice and they are short and abrupt with patients. I'd go so far as to label some of the staff as simply mean. You get partial answers to your questions, they are very slow to respond to voicemail and email, if at all. STAY AWAY!
NO! Just no. I have a broken tooth and went to go get it fixed. It took 3 appts. 1st one was to just look(?). 2nd one was a cleaning. Very rough and got stabbed multiple times and not just normal cleaning stabbing. Finally the 3rd appt to actually fill it. That’s where all the issues came from. I told them before hand I didn’t numb normally so the doctor gave me some extra. They let me sit for 10-15 minutes and came to start working. He started drilling and I apparently wasn’t numb so I got some more and waited more. Once he came back he seemed very annoyed that he had to stop to let me numb up. Once he started drilling it still hurt and I wasn’t completely numb but I just left it since the dentist was already annoyed and cold. When working on my tooth, they pulled my jaw more than it could physically open. My cheek was being pulled to the point I thought it was going to rip at the corner of my mouth. The assistant kept sticking the suction thing down my throat. He filled it and filed it and had me check. It didn’t feel like he did anything. I was still being stabbed with a sharp piece like he did nothing. Told him, and he filed it down a bit. Still sharp. Felt it with my finger and a piece of the filling fell right off. I kept telling him it wasn’t good and he filed it a total of 5 times and nothing changed so I just told him it was fine. I could tell by the third filing he was just done. The amount of time it took to file and fill the tooth was maybe 5 minutes tops. Not nearly enough time for the break I had in my tooth to properly drill it out, fill it and smooth it. So I’ll be trying to smooth it out on my own since they were no help. I will NOT be returning nor recommending it to anyone. I will actively be warning people to stay away. It’s like they know they’re dealing with poor people and can treat them however. Shame on them.
Well...the dental clinic is great when they actually pick up the phone... 🙄 I have called 11 times in the past 2 weeks only to be sent to mailbox each time. It would be nice if I could schedule an appointment by phone instead of having to go the whole way there with the bad parking literally only to schedule an appointment... I dont know who picks up the phone in this place but im begging you to do your job.
I can say enough about how wonderful this place is. The staff at reception are welcoming and always friendly. Kia, the social worker is down to earth, warm, and extremely caring. I've been seeing doctor Rowe regularly for about 4 months, she is frankly the best doctor I've had. She is thorough, up-front, and extremely patient. Lastly I would like to recommend Joanne the clinics therapist to anyone looking for one in the area. I have only had two meetings with her so far, but I am amazed at the progress she has already helped me make. I look forward to having Joanne as my long term therapist Again, I highly recommend the New Kensington community health clinic!
I just recently got a cleaning and exam here after putting it off for 8 years. I DO NOT like going to the dentist because of past bad experiences... But Dr. Proctor and the dental hygienist did not shame me at all and were very gentle and considerate of my dental anxiety. I expected there to be something wrong since previous dentists seemed to always find something that needed fixed. But they said my teeth were cavity free and my gums looked good. No unnecessary work to be done here!!! Updated Review: Although I still appreciate this clinic and would recommend it to anyone without insurance, I will say that I was a bit confused when I came back 6 months later and another dentist was telling me that I needed a filling. This was based on the x-rays that were taken 6 months earlier at the first visit. I don't understand why this one dentist could see the cavity, but the original dentist who took the x-rays couldn't. Having that said, I wasn't really too surprised since I hadn't seen the dentist in almost 10 years. Dr. Proctor did a wonderful job giving me the filling. I didn't feel one bit of pain and it was a deep cavity. I'm glad the other dentist caught it before I needed a root canal or tooth pulled!
