I feel like the service is great and most of the people are nice. I feel like my doctor had me come in for so many ex-rays, blood draws, and consultations and never tried to give me conclusive diagnosis, so I went to a different clinic and was diagnosed and treated within 2 visits. There's also someone named Adrien who has been widely known to violate HIPAA and also retalate when reported. Be aware.
Clinic is clean and well maintained. My current provider is very kind. However, the booking system is incredibly disorganized. They only book a month out, must be on the phones promptly when they open and then wait an hour on hold. I am constantly told I will be called to set up my next appointment or to receive lab results, but these calls NEVER come and I am forced to deal with the phone lines. This always pushes my next appointment much father back than it should be. I am on OHP and this system only serves to remind me that if I was wealthier, I could have access to more reliable care. Very disheartening. Also, they are incredibly pushy about mental health services at both clinics. If I say I do not want psychiatric medication or therapy that is a complete statement and I strongly resent providers trying to coax me into changing my mind. Educate your staff on the abuse prevalent in the psychiatric industrial complex and stop insisting everybody should see a psychiatrist, PLEASE.
The place is decent as a homeless youth center. If only homeless adult centers were more welcoming for queer people… However if Outside In was being honest about supporting queer and or autistic people they wouldn’t be accusing autistic youth of looking at POC funny. Because that was nothing more than mental abuse. I have been there way back and even the staff was very angry at me for existing in front of black people. From my perspective I wasn’t doing anything to provoke black people until one person decided to be a psychological abuser and he pretend that I was looking at him funny, when actually I was just existing in front of him THE ENTIRE TIME. Also here’s a question, are you black-phobic if you freak out over someone existing in front of black person. I mean there’s nothing wrong with just existing even if a black person passes through.
I had a very inhumane experience here. I set up an appointment, was literally in pain at the office and they turned me away, bc I was two minutes past the grace period. Additionally, I could never, ever get in touch with my doctor or see my doctor, because there were no availabilities and she never had time to respond to my messages. I love the heart and concept of this clinic and the services it provides. You must change your policies. There are too many patients and it's causing the quality of care to decline significantly. I truly hope you think through this and realize it's also impacting the doctors. They are so stressed, they have no time to respond to the patients they already have. It's inhumane and not okay. Please fix. Thanks.
This is a charity clinic, but they take regular insured patients here too. I like to go to them so my insurance coverage goes towards a good cause. I highly recommend Dr. Rachael as a primary care physician. She is very knowledgeable and compassionate. The only downside to this clinic is that there are a lot of homeless who hang around outside to receive assistance and while they are usually not violent you do need to be careful because they might not be in the right state of mind.
