Receptionist were polite; that deserves atleast a star. Healthcare in this areas is so completely inadequate its mind boggling. I went for my mental health being that I just moved here (I had excellent care from my previous dr in a different state) and was already diagnosed by a reputable dr so i assumed this would be pretty simple. Arrived 30 minutes before my appointment and was finally seen 50 minutes after my appointments scheduled time. Its a small room and yes the dr visit was a tablet(if i was informed of that i would have went elsewhere but i waited weeks and was in a super bad state of mind, literally i felt hopeless with no other option). I sometimes couldnt understand her and I dont think she comprehended what i was saying at all. Long story short, she placed me on medication that made me ill (even though countless times I expressed what I had previously been placed on and what i am diagnosed with). I didnt go back for a follow up and am now currently in search of a new psychiatrist. No wonder people have mental health issues and dont seek medical attention in this area!!! I wholeheartedly believe whoever is running/owns this clinic should reevaluate their business and employees. Quality care is needed in these rural communities and its not accessible. Seek help and dont be ashamed but defenitly dont waste valuable time and money on this clinic!!!!! Update: i recieved a $422 dollar bill because apparently they didnt run the 2 insurances i have?!?! Main street clinic in Elkhart, Kansas is beyond phenomenal in psychiatric care as well as primary care, take your business there!!!!
We did not have a good experience here. For one, the psychiatrist was on an iPad, not in person. We were placed in a room the size of a closet with an iPad in front of our faces. The first psychiatrist we talked to was very cut and dry and didn’t have any emotion. When we asked for a second opinion, she asked us to wait and she would connect us with another psychiatrist from Amarillo. Ten minutes later we received another FaceTime call from someone in Amarillo. She did not act happy about taking the call, and when she asked where the previous psychiatrist was, we explained she had been on FaceTime as well. This lady then began to talk to trash on Panhandle Counseling and Health about how they should have someone there in person (ironically, she’s griping about the center using FaceTime via FaceTime 🤦🏻‍♀️.) She ended up asking us to “take her to the reception desk” so it was awkward carrying the iPad from our “closet” to the front desk. We ended the day with more anxiety than we went in with and left against their recommendations. At the reception desk, we asked how much we owed for the services that day. We paid the amount and left. A month later, we received a text message saying we owed another $387. No bill. No professional phone call. No explanation. It was a super bad experience. My hope in all this is that someone else can actually get some quality counseling and life change from this place.
The medical doctor I saw was pretty good, but the low rating is because of Elizabeth the psychiatrist. She's the worst psychiatrist I ever dealt with. Not only am I in a small group where I can hear everything that's going on, I got workplace accommodations from her, but they ended up being too restrictive forcing me in a highly stressful position. When I tried to get them changed, she said she couldn't. To make matters worse, it's a video visit, and the video quality is poor. I don't know why I had to go to the clinic just to video chat with someone, especially someone like her. If you need a psychiatrist, avoid this place.
Receptionists don’t care about getting you in. They have zero cares about your children and getting you in to see the doctors in a timely fashion and are extremely rude. If you can manage to get an appointment don’t be 1 minute late no matter the cause of being late or the receptionists will refuse to let you see the doctor. They also were insisting my two week old child have an ID, when we didn’t even have his official birth certificate back and were rude about taking my id as his guardian. If they get better receptionists they would be an amazing clinic. If you manage to get past the front desk receptionists and you do get to see the nurses and doctors they are very good and have amazing bed side manner and take great care of you.
My granddaughter child was running a 103° temp called and couldn't get through due to them blocking her phone. Let use my phone and they answered immediately. Talk to someone there and the person told my granddaughter to take her daughter to Liberal because they could see her now. This isn't the 1st time my granddaughter has had problems with this clinic. 1 star is to good for them as far as I'm concerned.
