I arrived as a walk in and was checked in at 10:24 am . There were several other people who I heard say they didn’t have an appointment and was a walk in. It is now almost 2 hrs and every single person has been called back other than me. Many people came after as walk ins. It is now empty just me and my daughter. I’ve been sitting here in pain for almost 2 hours. Very slow facility and very confused of why I haven’t been called. I checked once to see if I had missed my name and they responded NO and told me I was next. Trust me they called someone else back after telling me this.

I have been a patient of Dr. Navarro for many years. He has served our community in a most stellar manner through several different medical facilities over the years. Nevertheless, The Roanoke Chowan Community Health Center in my opinion mirrors his phenomenal bedside manner as well as his overall core beliefs as it relates to optimal patient care. Having said that, I visited the emergency room in Roanoke Rapids on Monday night and today, Thursday, a representative named Amy Long telephoned me to find out how I was coming along. She, just as Dr. Navarro, was super professional, authentically personable and uplifting. It is apparent to me that RCCH has made a commitment to excellence and they have secured intellectually sound and caring personal like Ms. Long to make the commitment a reality.

I thought coming back was a good idea. Not, they wouldn't call me back after I had to go to the hospital. They get my medications right all except one that the nurse entered wrong. Now they would change it. Then my daughter is autistic, don't read, or retain information. The nurse would not give me her information. Talking about my name wasn't on her chart. That is a lie, because I set her mychart up. They are all stupid like I told the nurse. I don't have time for this stupidity. So I have transferred my treatment back to my old faulty.

Avoid this place if possible absolute mess their for management and very poor staffing. Drove their from Windsor Nc on a Saturday for I thought was for some routine blood work but turned out that I was sent their for a UTI checkup. Also their were absolutely no notes or directions in my chart from the person who set up this appointment the day before from the triage nurse who I had talked to over the phone on Friday. I had another gone to a Carolina Quick Care health center the day before in the afternoon and had a Urinalysis done and it was negative all though they did find trace of blood in it. Which is exactly what they found on Saturday morning when they repeated the Urinalysis test in Roanoke Chowan Comprehensive which also blows my mind if this is a true comprehensive health and medical center why can't that pull or do routine blood work can someone figure that out for me? They were also very smug and rotten to me when they were finished with my exam and the doctor said the nurse would be in to show me the way out which barely happened. Again if you are able to find a different healthcare then Roanoke Chowan Comprehensive or Colerain Primary that is more on the ball or seems to have better bedside manner and is not so gruff or cold more power to ya.
