I'm so grateful for this place and the staff. The accessibility through sliding scale is really a blessing, especially when I didn't have insurance. I've had good experiences that were efficient and Dr. Josie is the most empathetic and real doctor I've ever had. Thank you!
Great bunch of people! My provider always listens to what I have to say, which is a rarity these days in health care. I always feel validated and supported, as well as receive knowledgeable healthcare. As of 2/8/24 I am looking for a new Provider... I called last month with what i believe was a burst eardrum and the Triage nurse told me it couldn't be that because i had no pain. Not her place to diagnose!!!! Not to mention, as a nurse myself, I KNOW there is not always pain! Smelly discharge and Tinnitus are positive s/s of a burst eardrum. She gave me an appointment 3 weeks later! She had one sooner, but would not give it to me because i wanted another prescription that i had previously spoken to my Provider about, so all She had to do was rewrite the prescription! I had also previously been in for my ear...so this was just a follow up to try and get the care i should have gotten last time! Two appointments and 2 co pays...what busy adult has time for that??? Try and get an antibiotic, it's an act of Congress! This other med i wanted needed a prior authorization and the insurance company says 2 weeks later they are still waiting for information that should have been included with the prior auth and they claim they have contacted the Provider several times. I called last Friday and was told I'd get a call Monday to follow up...no call....I called again Tuesday and was told i would get a call back that day...today is Thursday still no call...I have however made calls to several independent Providers in the area to see if they accept my insurance. I long for the days of excellence in health care. I called Thursday to be told to call back Friday to see where it stands ...Call back Friday morning, " still in a holding pattern ". My insurance still states " No response from Provider " ...So incredibly frustrating. Called my insurance company Friday afternoon (today) and they state my prior authorization "timed out" due to no response from Provider. Back to square one...
I’ve been going here since I was probably 3 years old. The only good in this office is Lisa Cushing and her MA Tori. Both have been great to me and that’s why I’ve had such a hard time deciding if I’m going to leave but I believe it’s time I find a different office. Front staff is rude I’ve only spoken to one lady up front that’s actually nice and happy. Also idk who the triage nurses think they are but they are very rude. Every time front office says that they will call me I dread the phone call. Some of the sentences were said in the past 4 months “omg you haven’t been seen since 2021” “oh that medication makes you feel that way? Seriously, there’s nothing else that may make you feel that way” pretty much second guessing me. After I got in a car accident I was just a little bruised and sore and at the time I didn’t feel it was necessary to go to the doctors but after a couple of days the soreness got worse so I called and they gave me the triage nurse who couldn’t get me in and then proceeded to tell me “you’ll be clogging up the ER don’t go there and waste their time” also had to know if I crashed into the person which I’m not sure how that has to do with me trying to make an appointment. Also asked if others were in the car, what kind of car. Just unnecessary. She made me feel like a hassle and in the end I never got seen by anyone. They also say they will return your call and almost never do. I’ve recieved I think 2 call backs in total. Its truly is sad I used to love this place and the only reason for the two stars is because my doctor is phenomenal I wish she would go somewhere else so I could still have her but this stress of calling this office is enough. I work in health care and I would never speak to my patients the way they do to me and if I did I probably wouldn’t have a job since it’s unprofessional. The amount of attitude you get is shocking considering their job is to help you get better but some how they make you feel like your an inconvenience.
Update- now the second month in a row they have not had my prescription called in and can only say “at some point today” even though they are aware I run out Monday night and pick up Tuesday morning. I called last Friday to request and Monday to remind them so I wouldn’t miss work waiting and have a stressful day not staying regular with my medication. After the fourth practitioner they have placed me with in 6 years, it’s a nuisance to not have a consistent physician that knows me and my health. Also multiple times they have missed prescription refills even after calling in days ahead of time to request as required. Multiple calls to the office and I get a “we are doing the best we can” with no ability to say when they would be facilitating their responsibility. My Biggest question to them was, what if someone needed their medication such as blood pressure or heart medication that they would need to live, and I asked if they would tell them the same thing?, “we are doing the best we can. “
So far so good. I have multiple health problems that cause every day living a ride on the struggle shuttle. Most doctors dont "have" time to sit down and go over Everything, let alone actually care. Cynthia McGee not only makes sure she understands every detail, she actually remembers. I am not comfortable giving blood but they made me feel very comfortable . Cynthia even stays to comfort and lets me position myself until i was comfortable. For anyone with high anxiety, multiple health issues or phobia to needles, l highly recommend white mountain community health:)
