I was referred to Family Health Center, Inc. in Laurel, MS, by Dr. Sylvia Caver, and I am pleased to highlight the exceptional care they provide. Not only are they recognized nationally for excellence by the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), but FHC also demonstrates a deep commitment to quality, safety, and community health. I was informed that they operate six clinics across their service area, along with a state-of-the-art 38-foot mobile clinic. This mobile unit allows FHC to deliver comprehensive, accessible healthcare wherever it’s needed, including routine physicals, chronic disease management, immunizations, cancer screenings, and specialized, groundbreaking programs such as the Ryan White Program and PrEP services for HIV prevention—giving back to those in the community who are underprivileged and under-resourced. The mobile clinic is thoughtfully equipped for all patients, including those with mobility challenges, ensuring care is inclusive and professional. Under the leadership of Dr. Rashad Ali, CEO—who has a connection with Dr. Sylvia Caver’s younger sister, Sierra Caver Ladygin, through her internship—FHC exemplifies excellence in patient outcomes, preventive medicine, and community-focused healthcare. I fully endorse their services and the care they provide to the community. Anybody alright with Dr. C is alright with me! I look forward to partnering with FHC and exploring their highly proficient expertise as a healthcare provider.
I am currently seeking another doctors office for my daughter. I have told this location MULTIPLE times that I want my daughters meds called into WALMART, and EVERY TIME they call it to their pharmacy!! Then, when I have Wal Mart call their pharmacy to get it transferred, NO ONE ANSWERS!!!! THANK GOD she isn't deathly sick and need her meds asap cause she'd die before she got better due to the incompetence of this doctors office. I don't even want to rate this place a 1 star. Ms. Beverly is the best thing about this location. She is very sweet and helpful.
I would give zero Stars if I could! The dental department is absolutely horrible! I have tried for well over a year and a half to get seen for a tooth that has been bothering me. They literally waited till the day of my 3 different appointments to cancel them. I had another appointment scheduled in January 2025. They called today (November) to "reschedule" for July. I just got some dental insurance yesterday but I now need a lot more done due to their negligence and total unprofessionalism. I would not recommend their services to a dog. Stay away if you need any dental work done!!!!
I highly recommend Dr. Phillips. She is a very passionate doctor. Most doctors don't take time out to listen to their patients but I'm a true witness to this lovely woman. She is a woman of God and she cares about her patients. Most doctors are in it for a pay check for a few minutes to walk in and walk out and not take the time out to listen to their patients not with Dr Phillips. She takes time out to find out what's going on with her patients and try to find solutions. If she can't find it she recommend you to someone who can. I love her and she is an amazing person and doctor so if you're looking for a great doctor come to the family health center. This is coming from me a person who hated to come to the FHC because of the repetition they used to have just in case there are others that maybe 🤔 in doubt or heard negativity towards the clinic. Believe me I used to be one of these people and now I'm a long patient of it. When I first started coming to the FHC I was not happy. I had to see Dr. Ali and my appointment was at 8am I wasn't called to a room until 1pm and I finally got to see him by closing time around 630pm when they was closing at 7pm. I vowed to never step foot back in the FHC ever again because I had to take the rest of my work day off in which I didn't plan for. Come to find out later Dr. Ali had an emergency at the hospital he had to attend to but still they should have said something yes but I assure you now they are much better. The wait time is a usual 2 hours or less. Depending on how many patients the doctor has. If it's just a few of us she's seeing I'm in and out within an hour if I don't have any issues going on with me that calls for concern.
