DO NOT GO HERE. EVER. Staff seem to receive virtually no training. No one wants to work there so it appears they push medical providers and assistants to work outside of their scope. Parking lot is dangerous and building has roaches. Staff constantly smoking outside. Say they support the Native community but don’t seem to employ any Native people. Many providers were kind but the really good ones don’t seem to stay working there for very long.
I am sharing this review to document a pattern of issues I experienced at Indian Health Board that affected my care, my access, and my trust in the system. My concerns include: – Referrals that were created and then closed without proper follow‑through – Repeated phone calls even after I clearly stated that I require email‑only communication for accessibility – A chart note claiming I “did not answer,” instead of acknowledging that my communication boundary was ignored – An appointment where I was spoken to in a condescending and dismissive manner by a provider, witnessed by another adult – Lack of administrative response to multiple attempts to resolve these issues These are not small mistakes — they reflect a pattern of poor communication, boundary violations, and unprofessional behavior that no patient should have to navigate. I am posting this review so others are aware of my experience and so the clinic has the opportunity to address these concerns and improve the quality of care for future patients.
Waste of time. Called for an appointment about my tooth. A filling recently fell out, tooth has a hole in it & exposed and needed re-filling. Was told to “just walk in at 8:30 tomorrow”. Went in, filled out paperwork, only to be told they can’t see me because they are seeing children that day. Try again tomorrow at 8:30 again. This information could have been conveyed in the initial phone call. People can’t just show up at 8:30 am on a workday, on a whim, everyday. Also, rude front desk staff who likes to cut you off while you’re finishing your sentence.
Very rude staff all around (from the front desk to the nurses and doctors). I have been going here for a few years. I have overheard the nurses and doctor speaking poorly about me. I have been talked down to by the nurses. When Dr. Henry was out, I saw Emily Torell; she was very rude and acted like she was better than me. I never want to see that lady ever again. Also, I have gotten shots there a few times by the nurses and none of them washed their hands before touching me. One day, the security guard (sits across from the front desk) was there listen to a racist TV show talking about how black people were eating cats and dogs and how Mexicans were criminals. I could not believe that no one asked him to turn it off, as it was inappropriate for the office. I recorded this guy on my phone listening to the racist show. I still have the 40 mins recording. Other than the lab technician in the medical building and Dr. Henry, the entire staff is rude and unprofessional. There is a reason why I worked there for only 2 weeks and quit. IHB, know that if it was not for Dr. Henry, I would not visit your facility.
My son goes there for regular dental cleanings every six months. When he has had cavities he’s come right back to have fillings completed. A month ago he felt a hole in one of his molars and he wasn’t able to get into an emergency appointment he now was told they can’t save his tooth and they are pulling the molar!!! Why did this go undiagnosed during one of his regular check ups and cleanings? A tooth does not decay that fast. He was never told he had issues with that particular tooth and now it has decayed to the point of no return. He is now missing a molar. This should have been detected during his last exam!!!
