I give them a big fat zero. They never answer the phone so you have to wait and wait. Forget about expecting any response from the patient portal - they completely ignore those messages. DO NOT GO HERE!!!!
Disorganized and very low quality care. It's a shame as they serve a low -income population who are unlikely to advocate for their healthcare. Dr. Jeffrey Benson could be the worst provider we've ever seen. He is rude, unprofessional, unknowledgable, and arrogant.
The doctor that my son sees here is great! but the man who usually answers their phone is incredibly rude, condescending, and has zero customer service skills. They also rarely return calls. I’ve left many unanswered voicemails. I’m considering looking elsewhere for my son’s healthcare because I really hate dealing with them on the phone.
I switched over to GPH because the provider (a NP) I wanted to see joined them. The phone representatives have left a bad taste in my mouth. Yesterday I called because I was asked to call and the person who answered was condescending and wouldn’t listen to my questions and hung up on me. I got another voicemail this morning with the same info as yesterday’s asking me to call. I tried calling back and the representative said he’d let someone know I called. I work a full time job and cannnot spend all my time doing phone tag…and my office has metal beams in the walls, making cell service poor but yesterday when I was trying to tell the rep to use my office phone he hung up. I was told I had bloodwork orders waiting at Nordx but after driving to the lab after work and waiting forty five mins, I was told the orders never came in and that was a “common problem with GPH.” And they said to ask the drs office to fax. I when I told the rep this, she asked me for the fax #, which I didn’t have. I am very discouraged and now looking for a new provider elsewhere because it’s impossible to get anywhere with these people! Not to mention they closed the patient portal with a promise of a new one, but that new one has never arrived…
The staff is very kind and caring. They are kind and good and competent. I have liked and felt safe with every staff member I have interacted with at Greater Portland Health. However, this place is impossible to get ahold of on the phone. Leave a voicemail and they might call you back, but it's a toss up. I went to the dental clinic a week ago. I spent over an hour waiting for a ten minute appointment. They prescribed an antibiotic, told me it would be ready in a half hour. I went to the pharmacy only to find out it was never called in. I spent the next week calling them. I called more than ten times. Not once did somebody pick up the phone. Several people called me back, but nothing got done. They were confused about who I was, why I was calling. Finally, seven days after my appointment, they called me and told me they would call it in. Find a different health care provider.
