I asked for an x-ray to be sent over to St Mary's in Auburn coincidentally they sent it to Central Maine Medical Center which I did not ask for as Central Maine Medical Center had a security breach between June and November of 2025 anytime I need an order filled or anything it's always a hassle a headache and a lot of work because the people that work here can't seem to get people's things filled orders filled or just about anything. My opinion the DFD in Leeds is way better than this one.
I don’t normally write reviews, but this experience really upset and frustrated me. I was scheduled for an appointment on Saturday at 8:45am. I arrived at 8:40, but the doors were locked and the lights were off. The sign on the door clearly said weekend hours are 9am–12pm, so I assumed it was a scheduling error. I waited and went back at 9:00 when the doors were open. When I tried to check in, I was told I might not be seen because I was “15 minutes late.” I explained that I had been there early, but the doors were locked. The staff member insisted and emphasized that he opened the doors AT 8:45. Instead of understanding the situation. They offered me a 10:45 appointment, but I had already driven out of my way and couldn’t stay that long because of work. I ended up walking out completely frustrated. This was extremely unprofessional and discouraging, especially since I’ve already had to switch providers multiple times because PCPs and psychologists keep leaving this practice. If they are going to schedule patients before their posted opening hours, they need to fix their signage.
I’ve been a patient of Dr Thorp, sines she was at CMCC. We followed her, and most of our family goes there! A great dr, and very thorough! I would be sad to lose her! The staff members are very polite and friendly! It’s worth the half hour ride!
Good Morning! I had an appointment for a physical that I scheduled a YEAR in advance for 8:30 AM today. I have been a patient @ DFD Russell for roughly 20 years. I know things for the healthcare profession have changed drastically since the Pandemic. My Primary Physician of 30 years decided to retire and unfortunately due to the drastic turn over staffing I have had to change PCP x 4 in 4 years which for me personally is super frustrating, but it's out of my hands, we all must adjust. At no time in my years of patronage to DFD has anyone felt the need to speak to me because I was late, and I pride myself on being early whenever possible. Today was rainy and I got stuck behind a construction vehicle on that stretch of road from Lewiston to Rt 106 to Leeds. This led me to walking in the door @ DFD Leeds office at exactly 8:30. I check in at the desk and the lady says nothing about the time. I grab my paperwork and begin filling it out. it's now 8:33. A Nurse/PA comes out and calls my name so I grab up my purse and papers an head toward the door the leads to the exam rooms. The Lady stops me and informs me that because I'm late for my physical Josie needs me to reschedule but if I have a urgent need she can see me. I pull out my Cell phone that clearly reads 8:33 AM (remember I have driven to Leeds from the center of Lewiston, so not a short trip). I looked her in the eye and said really? For three minutes? My mind goes back over all of my many many visits and how many times I've been rescheduled by the office for some scheduling conflict and how many times I have had to sit in an exam room naked, in a Jonny waiting for 20-30 sometimes longer to be seen. This lady says to me yes, because we ask you to be here 15 minutes early, did they not mention that when they called you? NO! and I did not receive a call I received a text. I do not recall the 15 minute "be early " reminder in the TEXT. She says do you have an urgent need? I replied, "No, but I have taken off from work to be here. She then asks "Would you like to reschedule?" No I would not like to reschedule, and I will not be returning to this establishment EVER! Bottom line is: if you need people to be in the office to fill out paperwork, schedule them an additional 15 minutes on the appointment! I work with scheduling at my job daily, and guess what? That is exactly what have done, Microsoft Outlook works great for this task! Do better "Medical Professionals", my time is valuable too. I will add that although I was not asked to, (I have no clue why I was not asked to, since it's an annual physical) I fasted because I know they will want bloodwork. So my annual bloodwork was not done either and the next time I need an RX refill that will come into play! So the remainder of my morning will be searching for a new PCP! I hope sending me away was really worth it for this practice, I hope you don't try to bill either myself or my insurance!
Since DFD Russell was handed Bridgton Hospital in Bridgton, Maine, and Bridgton hospital is no longer affiliated with CMMC, the quality of health care I have received has be the worst in my life. I am a 75 year old diabetic, hypertensive patient and in the last year and a half with DFD Russell, they have cancelled every regular scheduled appointment that was made for me. Twice these appointments were rescheduled for months later and then the rescheduled appointments were also cancelled at the last minute. I tried for three months to get an appointment to address a blood pressure that consistently was 180/96 before I finally booked my own appointment for that concern and they let me know they did not feel I should have made that appointment. Then after I was started on my second antihypertensive medication, they never made a follow up appointment to check on its effectiveness. I tried five times over a year to get access to the Patient Portal and was told the first four times that the staff had not been trained to add me to the Patient Portal. I registered for the Portal on the DFD site, but could not access my results without an PIN and without signing a release. The fifth time I asker for this, I was given a printout with instructions, but no PIN and no release was offered for me to sign, so, of course, I still do not have access to the Patient Portal. Finally, my doctor has now left and after waiting for months to have and appointment to check my Hgb A1c, my appointment was cancelled and as far as I know, not rescheduled. Now I am forced to order glycollated hemoglobin online and pay for it and I will have to go to an online physician for other care I need. My insurance provider,Martin's Point Generations Advantage Prime, is excellent. DFD Russell is abysmal!
