One of the best experiences I've ever had at a dentist. I had emergency tooth pain and He went above and beyond to help me.
The Dr and staff are generally pretty nice, but the overall atmosphere is that I am treated like a drug-seeking criminal for needing pain and inflammation medication when I am also given 12 other medications that do harm and hardly work. Then the communication is AWFUL! Staff barely answer the phone and don't know how to help you, and take extremely long and have huge difficulty with simple paperwork. They keep scheduling me without calling about it and then act like I am at fault for having other things to do. Worst of all, they act like your time is not valuable compared to theirs (although most all medical establishments in Maine seem to be guilty of this, and much more). I don't know why or how it's managed so poorly, but I feel like even as an extremely disabled person I could still do better. The first star is for taking medicaid/medicare insurance, and the second star is for kindness. Else is pretty bad. EDIT: It is also the case that it's extremely hard to get a prescription filled on time or sometimes at all, which has led me to serious withdrawals and side effects that could easily be (and should have been) avoided. The fault may also lie in the local pharmacy (Walgreens), but everything seems to go back to EHC because no other prescriber I know has this issue. Constant mistakes such as sending wrong size syringes and needles, or sending medication I haven't needed in years.
This place would receive zero stars if it was allowed. Since we have lived here that doctor's office has gotten away with more unprofessional behavior then any business ever. For instance my wife has a heart issue and above stroke level pressure and it took a month to see someone. Then two weeks to have a take home machine to test her levels. Which said as her medical records showed she has a heart condition. They then took another month to give her results. At that time refused to give her a referral to a heart doctor gave her more pills to take. My wife takes care of elderly and more then once has she had her clients fall and need to see a doctor and they'll usually see them within a week. Then just hand off pills rather then do tests. I just wonder how many elderly and others have died on there watch. There doctors maybe work once a week. They have a terrible reputation in this town, and especially there treatment of our elderly. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone do what many of us do now. Go to lubec or calais.
This dentist is the dentist from hell. RUN, do not walk. He lied to me for over 2 years saying I had multiple cavities. I have proof. I have my medical records stating all the work he said I needed to have done.. then I went to another dentist and I have x-rays showing that I never even had a single cavity. Then when I called up to complain the women in charge defended this jerk and said she simply believed their must be a logical explanation. Yeah the logical explanation is that he is a dirty liar after your money, that explains everything. Plus Kathleen, who cleans your teeth, does not clean her instruments and the day after I went there I got a severe gum infection and I had to seek treatment by another dentist for it. IF this seems like it can't get any worse, it can. Because after I walked out of there mysteriously a huge chunk of my enamel was chipped off one of my teeth. They tried to justify it but I knew that chip was not there before I went there and i have x-rays to prove it. so RUN as fast as you can
I had set up an appontment to get a tooth removed at the dental clinic. The call for the appointment was made on a Friday afternoon and was for the following Monday morning. On that very same Friday I had a previous call in the morning asking for a tooth extraction, but was told that extractions cannot be done on Fridays as the Doctor would not be available. Thus the appointment for Monday. Arriving on time on said Monday I learned that the doctor had no time for an extraction. I had only managed my severe pain by daily taking 2000mg of pain killer pills. I also had to drive one hour one way to get to Eastport. I was shocke to learn that a dentist is refusing to offer help for a person in pain distress. I would not ever go back to Eastport Health Center.
