My daughter’s pain and swelling wasn’t taken seriously leading to a delay in the diagnosis and treatment of a chronic disease. Disappointing.
I took down my previous review because I was asked to and I believed the issues that I had written about had been resolved, but they have not been resolved. Ms. Samantha Smith, P.A. told me personally on my last visit that she would write my medications for 90 days instead of for only 30 days because it saves me money in office visit fees, and delivery fees. Her assistant came in that same day after she completed her consultation with me and reiterated that my 3 prescriptions that I take for high blood pressure would be written for 90 days. They were only written for 30 days each and I learned later that they were also contingent upon me completing more lab tests in their office. My issue was that I was still paying PathGroup for the previous labs that were run early 2025. I was told during the consultation that day that I did not owe Path group and I didn't need to keep paying the $50.00 per month that I was paying. I never got any follow up to confirm this in writing or by telephone. I received a call after I posted my previous review saying that it had all been taken care of, and that is NOT true. I have many colleagues that convinced me to file a formal complaint with the Kansas Board of Healing Arts, and I have done that because I did call PathGroup and they knew nothing of the fact that I should not have to pay that bill. PathGroup was starting an inquiry and contacting Holy Family Medical to find out who needs to pay that bill after I spoke to them about the discrepancy. I told Ms. Samantha Smith, P.A., that I didn't want to incur any more financial costs until I was able to pay the $537.37 that I owed in full. I have only paid $190.00 of it and I was told that money will be returned to me, but PathGroup knew nothing of it. Now, because my meds are being held hostage since I was told that my medications will not be called in until I complete more testing, I am out of my blood pressure medications and this facility has put me at risk of health concerns that I have never had before. I have NEVER been without my medications. NEVER!! So, my nurse friends and a former office manager of my deceased doctor advised that I file formal complaints. I did not go in for more labs since I still owe for previous labs. I did cancel my next appointment with Ms. Samantha Smith, P.A. because I will not be held hostage, and she broke the rapport and the trust. I have made an appointment with a newdoctor, and not a P.A. at another facility, but because I am considered a "new patient", I cannot get in until late next month and I am now out of medications. Again, I received nothing in writing and this facility, Holy Family Medical in Wichita, KS has put me at risk of health concerns because they chose to tell me that without more labs at my cost, I cannot have my medications. I will never be held hostage, and I have taken these same medications for years, and I have never been out. Now, because of their choices, my only recourse was to file a formal complaint with the Kansas Board of Healing Arts, and I want nothing to do with Holy Family Medical in Wichita, KS, and my family is livid and wants me to contact an attorney - I am done with any restrictions being placed on my blood pressure medications. And, this review will stay up - they have no reason whatsoever to contact me again. When I am done, I am done. I was impressed at first until they restricted me from my medications that I have taken for years - NOPE!! Tracy A. Tams Rehabilitation Counselor, M.S.
Not only did i have to take off of work for my appointment, but after racing across town to arrive a couple minutes late, I was told I had to reschedule!! The lobby had one other family and it did not appear busy, but they couldn't accommodate me. I was 4-5 minutes late, not like 30 minutes. Ridiculous!!
Dr. Farris is polite, competent and works with his patients so well!!! He compared my lab results from the previous appointment to my results at present. Very compassionate doctor!
