We just switched dentists and were told my spouse has a cavity that will need a root canal on. It was brought to their attention it was bothering her but they didnt say it was a problem and theyd just keep an eye on it. The last appointment was only 4 months ago so how could it progress to a root canal in such a short time? This is very sad for us they gave substandard care. Also this office has messed up appointment scheduling so when we showed up we were told we canceled... lol
I had a tooth issue last Thursday, and went to the new Mount Ayr clinic. I needed to have a root canal, the xray showed signs of infection, and regardless, he proceeded to begin the root canal, and didn’t prescribe the correct dosage of antibiotic. As a result, I’ve been sleeping for hours on end with a swollen face over the weekend. I went to the clinic in my town today for a shot of antibiotics to hopefully get on the right track.
My Doctor in leon is great very professional and caring. But the front end staff is a mess, seems inadequate training, poor organizational and communication skills bring down the quality of care quite a bit. We have to trust this kind of health care. They should be embarrassed for treating people this way.
Imagine that you did everything you could to protect yourself but because of your parents' carelessness fall ill with COVID-19, which with every infection causes cell and vascular damage and can cause multi-organ damage. Image an antiviral medication exists that can shorten the duration of acute illness, alleviate symptoms, and may protect from long-term damage and life-long health issues. Imagine you develop symptoms and are desperate for help because you never fully recovered from the first time that your parents infected you. Imagine you just moved to southern Iowa from abroad, so you don't have an established medical record and support network, but you had just been to Infinity Health in Leon, so you reach out to them...and the response you get is that they can't prescribe an antiviral because they have no lab work of you on file and the medication "may cause kidney damage" (like any readily administered pharmaceuticals, such as pain killers), so there was nothing they could do. Imagine the long-term damage such a decision to "do nothing" can mean to an individual suffering from the effects of a virus such as SARS-CoV-2. COVID-19 is not the time to tell a patient that nothing can be done! No medical issue that patients entrust you with is! What do I do now, where can I go in the area for medical assistance?
I want to thank the staff at IH for their wonderful care. From beginning to end they are such great servers to our public. Makayla at the front desk is a super patient advocate, always ready to help with services available to fit our needs. Pharmacy is such a wonderful service. The medical staff is very family and patient oriented in their care. Thank you, thank you, to you all. Our rural communities need more servants like you!
