Dr. Hillsman has been my children's Dr for over a year now. We really like her and if this review was based solely on her care and bedside manner it would be a 5 star easily. She cares, she knows exactly who we are and what we need walking through the door and always sends timely prescription refills. MY review is for OBGYN Dr. Walker. I did an annual with her a year ago along with ultrasound. Was referred out to women's health because of ultrasound yet they never sent images. I can't tell you how many times I called, left, messages, etc. Finally Dr Walker reached out herself explaining it was through a third party company and she'd personally make sure they reach out so I could get my images... yeaa that was over a year ago. Wrote her a message through the portal AGAIN with no response from her or her care team... sad.
On January 5th, 2026, I arrived at TCA Health Clinic for a 4:30 p.m appointment with Zahida Mughal for a routine pap smear. Upon Zahida reaching my exam room at 5:33p.m., I overheard her telling staff that she did not feel like doing a pap smear and that I needed to reschedule because she was ready to go home. When she came into the room, she appeared and sounded like she was fustrated and irritated. She yelled at me to ask why I needed to get a pap smear and I reminded her, that she told me to schedule the appointment for the pap smear. I am a 23 year old virgin and this was only the second pap smear I've had in my entire life. After being yelled at for making the appointment she asked me to make, she then proceeded to demand that I lay down and scoot to the edge of the bed. I felt very uncomfortable, nervous, and scared which prompted me to tell her "wait, wait, wait, I'm nervous right now" she then said " stop wasting my time, patients like you, I won't waste my time on" all of a sudden she stuck a long q tip in my vagina really hard. It hurt really bad and I started bleeding immediately. She finished up and walked out the room. I felt alone, hurt and scared. I didn't know who to talk to about what I had just experienced. Today I went to work in pain and I decided to tell the EMT at my job what happened and she helped me to file this report and I have been advised to seek further medical evaluation. I feel violated, humiliated and I am affraid of doctors at this point. My trust with the medical system has been broken.
I drove all the way here for an appointment to see Dr. Walker because I was searching for a black female OBGYN physician as another black OBGYN female physician myself. I never got to see her because I left before being seen due to an unprofessional interaction in the waiting room. After the front desk graciously checked me in and I sat down to wait, someone came out of the front door rudely discussing that I hadn’t arrived on time and that they wouldn’t take me. I believe I must’ve arrived on time because the matter wasn’t approached further however I decided to leave because of that first impression. Unless it’s an extenuating circumstance, people in health care should be respectful and not discussing patients loudly in the waiting room. The front desk and lobby is the face of the clinic so any interactions whether they are negative or positive can impact a patient. I will be finding another place to establish OBGYN care. I also asked to get the practice managers (Isela Martinez) information and was given a generic number for the clinic so clearly they don’t want to approach this concern.
Veronica Clarke the CEO is at the center of the chaos. The only thing she seems to change is her outfit like that of a chameleon. She's hardly ever around when she's needed, yet always has time to talk about her staff and call them messy, she brings more mess and confusion than anyone. She has bad energy written all over her. Gladys, her assistant? she's always yelling, always complaining, and it just makes the whole place feel heavy, loud, and miserable. Together, along with Vary, Dr. mathew and Samantha they create an environment that feels completely unprofessional and honestly exhausting to be around. The leadership here doesn't know what they're doing. This place feels disorganized from top to bottom. This organization and company needs to be investigated as they have many cases at hand. Even the patient bathroom is in horrible condition with mold. If the areas the public can see look like that, it makes me worry about everything else going on behind the scenes. TCA Health is failing this community. People walk in hoping for help and compassion, and instead they get chaos, stress, and leadership that doesn't seem to care. This place needs serious change starting at the top because right now, it's not serving anyone the way it should.
Great clinic, doctors, and receptionist. However, the lab tech, needs more training on how to draw blood and stop blaming patients. Her favorite statement is that you didn't drink enough water. And she's sticks the butterfly needle around in your arm if she's not able to get your blood. She really needs more training.
