Mercy Care is a true blessing. Care is fantastic from dedicated staff members. The Care is the best in Atlanta, and that's saying something, no matter your income. They should get 7 stars.
The staff at Mercy Care on Decatur Street was absolutely, positively amazing—caring, personable, courteous, and truly professional from start to finish. I want to especially highlight Mr. Jeffrey Harper, who completed my intake. He was the consummate professional. During my visit, a patient began harassing the staff, and Mr. Harper handled the situation with remarkable calm, dignity, and grace. Watching him protect his team while maintaining compassion was something I’ll never forget. As a new community health worker, I hope to carry those same skills forward in my own work. An outstanding experience all around. -
I must say I got the real Atlanta experience, being that I am not originally from here, and the patients had strong personalities. However, the staff were so professional, helpful, and personable. Wait time was a bit long due to me being a walk-in patient. Most scheduled patients were seen quickly and fashionably.
This is a bitter sweet experience the staff here are either completely disrespectful and rude or apologetic and kind. The serves they offer could be a blessing if you weren't treated so poorly in the process. I would rather neglect my health than have my mental health further damaged by these hateful, nasty employees and feel bad for the ones who are actually kind and have to have their names linked with some of the most awful service I have dealt with anywhere.
I would not recommend this place due to my experience and the entire atmosphere of this facility. This facility was recommended to me on a list provided by my doctor for psychiatric care. I'm coming from being a patient at Grady BH and that facility is better at maintaining a patients integrity and privacy while maintaining professional decorum than this facility. It is ran like an authoritative prison than a healthcare facility that provides services. You can't eat or drink here. You can't wear headphones. People yelling at you. You have to always stand in a line. You have to yell out your sensitive information (SSN) instead of typing it in. They want to know where you work and how much you get paid. You have to provide a pay stub in order to receive a reduce payment. Just weird, invasive questions and information I've never had to provide to get psychiatric care. It's $100 before you're seen! My doctor visits don't even cost that much and I don't have insurance! The only positive thing is I was seen rather quickly with the whole reception area completely full but that only because someone else didn't show or else this would have been the third and last time I tried to get care here. Again, I would not recommend this place due to my experience and the entire atmosphere of this facility. I would gladly just pay for parking and waiting 3hrs to be seen than to deal with the chaos again.
