I regret to express my disappointment with the services provided by Whitman-Walker. I have consistently praised this establishment for their contributions to the community and the support they have extended to me personally. However, my recent experience has compelled me to revise my opinion. My sister, who suffers from mental illness, required assistance with her application for insurance. We were assured by a staff member, Myles Mann, that he would provide the necessary help. Initially, Myles offered hope by promising to escalate the issue to his supervisors and build a case after placing a new application. Unfortunately, he withdrew his support at the last minute, leaving us in a difficult situation. My sister urgently needs her insurance for her schizophrenia medication and cannot endure long waits in public places. Myles and the team seemed more interested in arguing and defending their right to treat their customers unfairly than in providing the help we needed. When I spoke to a supervisor, I was given a background on Myles rather than the assistance I sought to resolve my sister's insurance issue. I cut him off and asked why he was allowing his employees to make threatening statements like “when I see you,” as if he was excited to confront me negatively. This experience raises concerns about the current team or management, who seem to require further training and staff evaluations to ensure their services effectively meet the community's needs.
Inaccessible, poor communication. Ive lived in many cities over the years and this may be one of the weakest comm clinics Ive ever been a member to. I have good insurance, and I can no longer tolerate the lack of follow through, response, etc. I cant get my prescriptions, get an appointment, or even get a call back. There is no way in heck I can trust this group to support me through transition. Ill be going to see an independent PCP who can take my fancy $$$$ insurance. And final comment, get rid of that god awful portal, no one knows how to use it.
Just called. Asked for 3 PM on Thursday June 16. Offered that it was two days from now and not three and I caught attitude. Front desk staff -- remember, you play a vital and important role. Your patients come to you, here as Whitman Walker, because they have needs. Mine is so simple. I am not feeling good. My TSH was an 8. Skimping on three to four to five meals, I lost some weight and my TSH rose to something higher. What is it that you do understand. OK she is having a hard time. She needs an appointment. I can help with that.
Dr. Vialante’s bedside manner and customer service is the worst that I have ever seen. He is very inattentive and his patient care is negligible. During my last visit he is very dismissive of my concerns. He is taking over my care from a prior physician within the same practice. However, he negligently failed to review my chart to follow up on health concerns. I had to instruct Dr. Vialante on my treatment. These failure and gaps in care is concerning and beginning to be a reflection of the clinic’s practice as a whole. Furthermore, Dr. Vialante negligently failed to resubmit my prescription after numerous failed attempts to reach him. Do not see Dr. Vialante!
Originally I ended up at Whitman Walker thinking I was meeting with a therapist for the first visit and in turn this health clinic has offered me so much more. I truly wish it was open to the public. I have found a place, so warm and caring, that I look forward to going. The staff alone is absolutely amazing. With much respect these professionals treat your body, head and soul. I found my new PCP, OBGYN, and others. Weekly I attend mindfulness meditation, virtually right now, a smoking cessation meeting with one of the most positive and supportive woman I've ever met followed by accupuncture, which needless to say is so wonderful in many ways. In addition to my health regimen so many other services are available. They even have there own pharmacy next door. I never realized how much I enjoyed the challenge of working on myself. Look them up on 14th St.
