I was deeply dismayed and disappointed by the way my father was treated at Dr. Rimmey's office. I made an appointment for a physical for him over a month ahead of time- I specified to the person who took my call that I wanted him to have a complete physical, vaccines, labs, etc as well discuss ways to support his memory issues. The man I spoke to seemed to note my request and told me we would have a 40 minute appointment for a physical. My dad did not receive any kind of physical- the Dr left the room without even listening to his heart or lungs or doing any kind of assessment. She stated she would have a man named Dillon come in and give us some referrals to support him at home with his memory issues. At some point in the conversation, she said she would give us a neurology referral. This was not done. I have called the office twice since and requested the neurology referral and have yet to receive it. Dillon came in and gave us paperwork to complete which I believe was for Health First Colorado. He told me to complete it as best we could and we could then make an appointment with him to go over it and submit it. I did that, called Dillon, and made an appointment to review the paperwork with him on 1/28 at noon. We arrived for this paperwork appointment and checked in at the desk. After about 10 minutes, this absolutely horrible woman- who stated she was Dillon's supervisor- came out and rudely told us that Dillon was not there. She said she checked his schedule and informed me that she did not believe we had any appointment, when we absolutely did. She said, "What are you applying for?" I showed her the papers and she said, "Oh, you're applying for Medicaid? Just go down to Human Services!" I did not know we were applying for Medicaid, I was told we were applying for a program that might get some help for my dad. She was so abrasive, so unkind, I could not believe that she was 1) a supervisor and 2) someone who interacted with the public. I'm not a person of means. I took time away from my job and flew in from WI to get my dad in a safe and healthy place. I counted on this doctor and staff to help us get there. It was all a complete waste of time and effort. I cannot even begin to verbalize how disappointing and frustrating it is.
The dental doctors and nurses are friendly, wonderful and caring. However the front desk lady is absolutely rude! I can confidently say that she is not even aware of what she is doing, extremely unpleasant with rude voice. Being not helpful is a secondary thing she is not even able to understand what i am trying to say. She messed up our appointments and unable to reschedule them on time. There was an overcharge on our account before and i strongly believe she is the one who has done that. Im sorry to say this if the receptionist is not helpful it’s hard for a patient to get treated well on time.
Never thought I would have to post this but the basic necessity of answering a phone call is not the highest priority of this company. I have been calling since Monday trying to get these people of the phone they do not answer and you are unable to leave a voicemail due to the mailbox being full. Many of us do not have the time to go into the office to beg for the front desk to get someone out in the lobby to help with a basic request. Where is the front desk supervisor or is there even one? So upsetting that I cannot rely on my doctors office to answer the phone.
I’ve thought about leaving this review a few times but i gave the benefit of the doubt until seeing it’s a pattern. Unfortunately every single time I interact with staff here, they are cold/rude. I’ve witnessed how they talk to other patients and I’ve experienced it myself. I feel bad the team is overworked and understaffed which is a huge stressor on moral. That said, it is not an excuse to treat patients (sick people coming to you for help) as an annoyance. I’ve been on the receiving end of passive aggressive and cold responses. I’ve often felt like they’re looking for reasons to say no rather than providing resources for help. Even if no is the answer, there is a way to deliver the news with compassion. Is there a law that medical office staff must treat people with empathy? No. Is it something I search for in a healthcare provider? Absolutely yes.
I use to really dislike the doctors and facility. Yet over the years they have really worked to up their quality of service. Now they have a beautiful new facility with an Awesome staff that really care for their patients.
