I had a very disappointing experience with this clinic. My follow-up appointment (scheduled for tomorrow at 12 PM after an ER visit) was canceled last minute at 7 PM the night before. I was then told they could not accept my appointment due to my Emergency Medi-Cal coverage, despite the appointment already being confirmed. I explained that this was a medically necessary follow-up, that I am currently in pain, and that other clinics closer to me do not have availability for another month. I was told I could still drive over an hour to the clinic and “maybe” see if the manager would take me in and discuss payment options. When I asked for a clear confirmation or guarantee, since traveling that far while in pain without assurance would be unreasonable, the staff member became unresponsive, claimed they could not hear me, and then disconnected the call. I was never called back. Canceling a medically necessary appointment with such short notice, providing unclear information, and then ending the call without follow-up was extremely unprofessional. Patients deserve clear communication and respect, especially when dealing with urgent health concerns.
I am so thankful for what VCC does for the community and have been a patient for over 20 years. I can’t say enough good things about the staff at all their locations because they deserve all the praise and so much more. Recently I had my teeth fixed at Vale Terrace with Dr. Silva and she was able to save a tooth that I was sure I was going to loose; on top of that she stopped a very painful infection. Dr. Silva and her assistant Mike Villanueva worked some miracles on my teeth. From the front desk staff to the doctors and assistants they really have a great team.
Horrible & a waste of my time I hardly ever make appointments for myself due to such a busy schedule and wanted to get test done medical assistant was the sweetest wish i could of asked for her name but don’t even waste your time with Charles Maletz MD he just gave me a form left to go print out another one and that was it. What a joke. Another reason why I moved my daughters to a different pediatrician.
I’ve been coming to VCC for about 30 years, and they’ve always been there for me whenever I needed care. Even during times when I couldn’t afford much, they still made sure I got the support I needed. Yes, the wait can be a bit long at times, but that’s understandable—there are only so many doctors and plenty of patients. Once I’m in, though, I never feel rushed. They take the time to listen, ask questions, and make sure all my concerns are addressed. That’s why it’s an easy five stars from me.
If you’re pregnant, avoid VCC Woman’s health at any cost. They are unprofessional, unresponsive and neglectful to their patients. My last pregnancy, they forgot about me in a room and started closing down the building before anyone noticed. They had to “catch the doctor before she left” to finish my appointment. Unfortunately, I was referred to them again this pregnancy and decided to give them another shot… I was transferred 8 times on Friday and another 6 times today only to be told my appointment was cancelled because they did not receive a referral that was sent over 4 times last week. Every person you talk to will give you different information and protocols. Save yourself the stress. They should not be seeing you or your baby.
