Our experience with Families Together of Orange County was extremely disappointing from start to finish. Scheduling the initial appointment took almost 20 minutes on the phone because the staff member was moving incredibly slowly. Unfortunately, things did not improve when we arrived. When we checked in, the front desk staff were not welcoming at all. We waited for about 10 minutes while staff members were chatting and smiling among themselves before anyone even asked for our information. We were given forms to fill out only moments before being called in, which felt disorganized. During the visit, the nurse took blood pressure and asked a few questions, then left. When the doctor came in, they noticed the nurse had not asked some depression-screening questions. Instead of handling it professionally, the doctor called in the head nurse and publicly scolded the nurse in front of us, which was very uncomfortable and unprofessional to witness. After filling out our paperwork, no one wanted to take the completed forms. The nurse told us to bring them to the front desk, the doctor said the same, and we had to carry them around ourselves until the end of the visit. Even small interactions were strange. When we returned the pen used to fill out the forms, the front-desk employee refused to take it and told us to put it in a cup ourselves. We had to walk out to the waiting area to place it there because she didn’t want to take it directly. When scheduling a follow-up visit, the front desk was not aligned with what the doctor had told us regarding timing. To confirm the information, two staff members went together to ask the doctor, which seemed like a very inefficient use of staff time. The facility itself also felt overcrowded, tight, and generally unpleasant. After returning home, we decided to cancel the follow-up appointment and simply request the blood test results without scheduling another visit. What followed was another frustrating experience: I spent almost an hour arguing on the phone with staff trying to obtain the records. First, they said we must schedule another appointment to receive the results. Then they said we must come in person to verify identity. However, HIPAA explicitly states providers cannot impose unnecessary barriers (like requiring an in-person visit) to access your medical records. It felt like they were intentionally making the process difficult. Because of this experience, we will never return to this clinic and cannot recommend it to anyone. The disorganization, poor communication, and unnecessary obstacles made the entire experience extremely frustrating. Avoid this place if you value your time and a professional healthcare experience.
So far, my experience with Families Together has been the best I’ve had in a very long time when it comes to doctors and dentists. The level of patient care and understanding is outstanding. Everyone is kind, compassionate, and truly good-natured. They actually take the time to listen to the patient, which is something I haven’t experienced with most hospitals or providers.
If you are here for DENTAL, DO NOT GO IN FOR EXTRACTIONS, the ONLY Oral Specialist Rafael Quintero, is an extremely inconsiderate and a brute. His license has already been reported by the board and if you are here for any kind of heavy dental work, please consider going elsewhere. They will inject you with anesthetic and give up half way because he realized this was too much for him to handle and referred me out because "I was in too much pain" after he got a pick tool and started pulling my tooth out.
I'm writing this review because I'm so satisfied and happy with my recent visit. I took my 4-year-old daughter for her vaccinations, and she needed a blood test with Dr. Gordon. He's great, but this time, Nurse Carla attended to her. She truly exceeded my expectations. I could feel her professionalism, empathy, and love for children. My daughter didn't cry as much for the first time when she was vaccinated. Nurse Carla found her vein right away and calmed her down and gave her confidence. Thank you!
I am a regular here my primary doctor Edgar Garza is amazing. I didn’t get to see him today because he’s that good. The nurse practitioner I saw name was Brenda! Who should already have the title doctor! She was very good and thorough asking questions and timelines and at least gave me a little bit hope. She Prescribe the medication needed for the sciatic pain I was in. This office has been good to me and I appreciate the office hospitality and the kindness from all the girls. Very well deserved five star.! Families’s first!
