June 16, 2025 Hello. I am writing a review of the Goleta Neighborhood Clinic and the operators who take questions or assist the patient with many issues like pharmacies, etc. I go to the Goleta Clinic on Calle Real. My doctor is Dr. Dennis Baker. I cannot say enough to complement this physician I see on Mondays. I have had other physicians at the Goleta Clinic and they have all been good, however, Dr. Baker is by far the "best" Internist I see that I feel "very" comfortable, at ease and trustworthy. He is a patient- friendly physician who always treats me with dignity and respect, and I can discuss any issue I may have at the time I see him, and I respect and trust and feedback he gives me regarding any health question or other subject. He listens and he does not have a "God-complex" that many physicians often exhibit. He is a great asset to the SBNClinics. The operators who take calls for the Clinics I have found excellent, and they have often helped me navigate the pharmacies lack of cooperation, and relay information to the provider when he/she is not present on a given day. Kudos to them! And Kudos to the Medical and Office Staff of the Goleta Clinic. They are always kind and helpful. I always feel welcomed and understood even though on a certain day I may feel grouchy. Thank you to all of you who do such an excellent and much needed service. : )
This a terrible place for anyone who needs regular meds. I am adiabetic and followed my doctor to neighborhood clinic . I have had nothing but trouble ever since. Now day 17 without my glucose sensor because they can't respond to simple questions from the pharmacy. I don't know what to do anymore. I cannot even get messages to my doctor. And one day last week they implied I must be lying about something it wouldn't be possible to lie about I think the nurses and docs care but they have no clue what the staff are doing and nether does the staff. I don't even know who to ask for help. It is so bad.
2024 I am updating my review. My last visits to the East Side Clinic were very good. Maybe my review helped, but I got replies quickly, got set up for what I needed quickly, and got a follow up to make sure I got everything I needed. I did. Review form 2022: Nice staff, however they are run terribly. They will lose things, forget to call back, set appointments and then turn you away because they "forgot" about something when you arrive. A patient should only call during business hours if they like to be on hold. I had to deal with months of calling only to find that what I wanted was authorized months before, but no one could figure it out and call me, or tell me whenever I called to follow up. This was consistent treatment, and only one example. I have been on hold for an hour just trying to demand my records and go somewhere else, and am grateful I am not someone who is too ill to fight back from such poor care. If I was in more urgent need for the care they promise I would be sorry.
There are good people working at this clinic. Unfortunately the issues they are experiencing now are harmful to the patients. The phones are not ringing through and messages are not returned when you are able to leave one. The backlog on referrals is horrendous and are putting people's lives at risk. At this point in time I wouldn't recommend anyone choosing these clinics for their health care needs. *Edit 10-23-22* This location has really worked on improving patient care and has done am amazing job!! They brought in several new providers, the care is first rate, the staff top notch and I have absolutely no problem recommending this location for your health care needs.
Dr. Sharma is an incredible pediatrician: kind, caring, intelligent. We have seen Dr. Ruth a couple of times and she was great as well. Thank you for always taking such good care of our daughter.
