I am writing to formally express my extreme dissatisfaction with the care and service I have received as a patient over the past year. While the nursing and support staff are professional and knowledgeable, the administrative and clinical management of the practice is unacceptable. In my time as a patient, I have yet to meet a doctor. After waiting six months for an appointment, I was informed the physician had left and I was assigned to a new one I still have not met. Furthermore, following a televisit, I was issued a prescription that the pharmacy could not fill because the provider's license had reportedly expired. Communication with your office is also deeply problematic. It is nearly impossible to reach anyone by phone. After I used the patient portal as a necessary alternative, a staff member named Jason disabled my access, claiming I had "abused" the system. I found his tone patronizing and his actions unjustified, as the portal was my only functional means of contact. As a full-time professional, I require a healthcare provider that is accessible and reliable. Given these ongoing issues with physician availability, licensing, and patient communication, I can no longer trust this facility with my health and will reassign as soon as my referral procedures are complete. Trust me when I say go somewhere else! Regards,
I was looking for prenatal care and was coming from out of state. I called in November for a January appointment. I called at the beginning of December to confirm, I was told it was booked as establishing care with a pcp. I explained to the girl on the phone that I needed an OB. She informed me that she went ahead and canceled the appointment and booked me for early January with an OB, and provided me a fax number to transfer records. My records fully transferred by the beginning of January and I got a call from IB clinic asking me if I have prenatal care. I laughed and said it was supposed to be them and they told me I had no upcoming appointments with them but we can get scheduled. I let them know that I’ll be halfway through my pregnancy by the time I arrive and I need to be seen by an OB right away, she scheduled me for the end of January. The appointment finally arrives and the Dr tells me that he’s not an OB, but a family doctor and that the clinic has no OBs. I informed him that the ladies at the front desk told me he was an OB and he said this issue has happened before and apologized. Issues with scheduling, taking forever to answer the phones, and misinformation. Not the place I remember going to as a kid.
If you can get health care elsewhere do it. Doctors don’t last here they come and go must be do to administrative concerns. Seems management is more concerned with remodeling a perfectly fine building than patient care. Calling for medical needs is like a root canal, today February 4, 2026 I’ve been on hold for over 2 hours with only 3 callers ahead of me. Not even the DMV, IRS or Medicare have worse customer service than the rapidly going downhill Imperial Beach Health Center. Giving it one star for the excellent doctors on the staff, but should be zero for its administration.
This place never answers the phone and they never call you back. I been trying to get a hold of my doctor to get results from an mri that I had done about two weeks ago and they haven't call me back. I keep leaving messages and no answer.
I cannot say enough good things about Nurse Practitioner Opara. She has been absolutely wonderful to me and my family. She takes the time to truly listen, explains things clearly, and always makes us feel cared for and respected. Her professionalism, compassion, and dedication go above and beyond what we could ever hope for in a healthcare provider. We are very grateful to have her as part of our care team and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for excellent medical care.
