Family health center is terrible, they make appointments change it and when you show up they change it again. It’s the most unprofessional medical clinic. If you have any health issues go somewhere else, Family Health Center of San Diego is dangerously unreliable.
this establishment honestly sucks. the scheduling staff is ALWAYS a disaster to deal with. It’s a shame they get paid to run such a disorganized facility. There’s been numerous times they have scheduled me with the wrong doctor/appointment resulting in them calling me last minute to reschedule, pushing my appointment farther out. Multiple times they straight up don’t call for telehealth appointments, making me “ Miss my appointment” Or late to work because I scheduled it at a certain time and they called 40 minutes later. almost all of the Specialist they have referred me to either don’t take my insurance (which they’re supposed to send you places that do ) or do not answer The phone to even make an appointment. Not to mention, my online portal is completely inaccurate, and apparently I’m diagnosed with things I had no knowledge of? like why is celiac disease on my portal when I have never even spoken to a doctor about that being a possible issue? I’m going on four years of trying to figure out what’s causing me to be chronically ill, with a large handful of abnormalities found in my lab results. unfortunately, this is what my insurance covers and they can’t figure out anything Which is insane when you Look at all of the Procedures /appointments I’ve been to in the last three years and all of the medical bills I have racked up and will never be able to pay. UPDATE: they called me 4 hours after my appointment time, not for my actual appointment, but offering to add me to the walk in list; so I can be glued to my phone until they call..JUST TO NOT CALL!! Beyond unprofessional, what is the point of having a scheduling system?
Unbelievable service from these people. Their appointments are always 2 to 3 weeks, if not a month out. Walk ins 90% of the time you're waiting 4 to 6 hours just to get turned away. These people have no problem wasting your time. Their Optomology department is very unknowledgeable, to the point where they have a ton of people I'll diagnosed including myself. I got told 3 different diagnosed, by 3 different doctors. They give you the run around time and time again. And refuse to do their part. Don't expect them to follow up on your referrals. I had a referral that should've been sent out 3 months before. I sat for 3 weeks trying to make an appointment, just to find out they never faxed it over in the first place. And when asked. They refused to follow up with the other hospital to get it expedited, after their lack of doing it in the first place. Said I'd have to wait days before it'll be processed after 3 months. I'm just so sick of having to be a client. I'm getting out, and going to Kaiser as soon as I can. I hate this company with every fiber of my being. No wonder there's a 2.5 star review. Do not become a client of theirs. It'll be the biggest mistake in your lifetime. Your health is too important to be treated second class.
Family Health Centers’ Community Harm Reduction Team changed my life. When I had nowhere to turn, they stepped in. They helped me get off the streets, get my record expunged, get my driver's license and my own car, stay sober, and start building a better future. Thanks to their support, I got a job, found stability through SafeHaven, and I'm about to move into my first apartment with the help of my amazing case manager, Trisha. Counselor Cherish helped me move and helped me transition into regular life and was kind and caring, and wanted to see me succeed, anytime I needed to talk the entire CHRT team was there. They’re not just doing a job they truly care. They listened, guided, and believed in me when I needed it most. This team is a blessing to the community and to anyone ready to take the next step toward a better life. I’m living proof that their support works. I’m beyond grateful.
Here's an update on my review. First of all, I urge you to re-examine your policies and your qualifications. I understand if you're concerned about liability. I got disqualified from Pace a couple weeks ago because they were concerned about me having suicidal ideations and they were concerned about their own liability if they took me. *I also noticed that Family Health Centers themselves believed that I was beyond their mental health care. They believe there wasn't a good fit. Although I had no choice but to accept their decision, I did not appreciate the way they made their decision. There is a photo of a letter that they sent me last saturday. I beg to differ about them giving an example of a person being in an "institutional setting". Also, I believe they should think very carefully about the decisions they're making. Just because a person has ideations doesn't mean they're about to do it. This should be on a case-by-case basis not an arbitrary rule. If someone sees this letter I hope they think about it. This letter was very upsetting to me and if it's upsetting to anyone else, that's the signal that this should be rethought. Is to warn other clients too. The system should work with this to deal with ideations and we should learn how to deal with ideations so that the system will not feel liable! With all due respect... Also because I don't have any more faith in Family Health Centers because of their decision, I have chosen not to go back there forever. Resources are very limited with gov ins hope I find a better health provider.
