I haven’t been here in over a year, but I’ve been catching up on my reviews and was reminded of the incredible support I received from Chanel Holguin. I first met her at the library when she was tabling, and she was truly the kindest, most helpful, and most knowledgeable person. She took the time to explain your services thoroughly and went out of her way to support my family and me. I now see her at St. John’s, but I have to say she was a tremendous asset to your company, and had she stayed, she absolutely deserved to be elevated into management. Another person who consistently made a positive impression was Dee/Damian. They always greeted me with a smile and offered exceptional customer service every time I walked in. Both Chanel and Dee/Damian were standout stars at DAP.
DAP health abandons it's patients in their moments of greatest need. And I mean this in the most literal senses. They disenrolled me for no reason and without any warning and the only way I found out is when I went to schedule my next appointment. Their legal team fought with me about facts that are objectively verifiable and their legal responsibility to me as a patient. They lied to me about what they claim to be my violations of their policies when I adhered to them to the T. Their new compliance officer seems competent and compassionate, but it doesn't make up for the harm that has been caused by their predecessors. Dap health is a major contributor to the decline in my health and claims no responsibility and will not help me rectify the situation. It's incredibly disappointing in a healthcare provider that claims to prioritize the health of the disadvantage and those suffering from the injustices that lgbtq folks suffer. They've shown me that this is not who they are.
Can you spell it out on the sign and in advertising so that everyone knows exactly what it is. It's Desert Aids Project. Stop trying to use slang and make it sound cool with "dap" and bluntly tell people the dangers of living in this city as my doctor at Desert Care Network just scared the crap out of me testing me for HIV and I'm not even sexually active. Apparently I am at risk just for living here. Most people don't know what dap stands for. SPELL IT OUT LOUD AND PROUD! "DESERT AIDS PROJECT."
I had to write a review after reading so many critical comments. I wondered if I was going to the same medical facility as some of the reviewers. I came to DAP 4 years ago. I certainly had trepidations. My previous provider was the University of Michigan Health System - a world class facility with top notch care. I am not comparing the two other than to say that getting medical care anywhere requires the patient to be proactive. That includes having the proper documentation that a federally funded health center is mandated to require. DAP is a pretty impressive health center. I have used all of the clinics, behavioral health, dental services, health and wellness services - acupuncture, reiki. Steve in career development made a resume for me. I use the Walgreen's Pharmacy on site. I have attended recovery meetings at DAP. The workers at DAP certainly have large caseloads, but I have never experienced rude behavior. Sure the wait at the lab is long in the morning. There is no wait in the afternoon and they take appointments. My caseworkers Gilbert and Sally were always patient with me and helped me get enrolled in different programs. Yes I am on my third doctor. But each one gave me excellent care. Palm Springs is fortunate to have DAP and all its programs. And Revivals. Who doesn't love Revivals ? Other than meeting me at the door with a big smile and a bouquet of flowers I don't know how they could be more accommodating.
DAP Health is an excellent resource for maintaining one’s health! I am a former patient of 5 years, most recently for 2 years under the care of Matthew Reynolds, NP. I can honestly say that Matthew Reynolds, NP, as with my prior two DAP physicians, is professional, knowledgeable and offers compassionate care. He excels in health maintenance and excellent communications! My recent departure from DAP Health was based solely on a change of insurance and a personal opportunity. Obviously DAP Health is in a period of growth with the goal of better serving our community! I highly recommend DAP Health for your medical care!
