I was in there today for surgery thinking about the needles they were going to put in my body and crying the entire drive there. But then when the entire team came I was told what would happen I felt calmed and there were no needles other than an over but during when I was asleep. Best children’s hospital staff are so kind to give a bag full of cool things
I didn’t have any interaction with medical staff, only the security team in the lobby. They were so kind and funny, it’s exactly what my family needed during a time of crisis and uncertainty. One of the ladies from security even bought us coffee after we struggled to find some from several nearby places. It’s the little things that mean everything. I pray that lovely woman is safe and also want to extend an invitation to her that Lighthouse would love to host her, she is welcome anytime. It’s about a 2-3 min drive from the hospital, on 42nd st.
Children’s Hospital Oakland provided exceptional care for my child. Every doctor, nurse, and staff member we interacted with was patient, compassionate, and truly committed to helping families feel supported. The communication was clear, the environment felt safe, and the level of expertise was evident at every step. I’m grateful for the kindness and professionalism we experienced and highly recommend this hospital to any parent seeking quality pediatric care.
My son Kenneth Payne fell into our swimming pool and the hospital transferred him from Concord to you hospital. He was there for over two months and his brain had to be repatterned. Your hospital did an amazing job. He’s 58 now and has worked for Target as a cashier and also The Home Depot. I’m so thankful for the excellent care he received from you. Dolores Payne Newberry
Dr Gehringer and his team especially Dr.Aguayo provided truly exceptional treatment. Very understanding, compassionate, and took the time to listen to all our questions. We were clearly explained the treatment plan and made sure we understood every step. Decisions were made with our child’s well-being as the top priority and involved us as parents in every step of the care plan. We felt completely supported and reassured throughout. The nurses were outstanding—extremely helpful, attentive, and always cheerful. They were quick to respond, patient with our concerns, and made sure our child was comfortable at all times. The food and support provided by Ronald House were truly appreciated. Helped to take a big load off us during our 2 week stay. Overall, we are deeply thankful to the doctor, nurses, and hospital team for taking such good care of our child.
