I am writing to share my deeply traumatic experience as a patient at Kendren to warn other parents. I was admitted at age 12, and the two weeks I spent there were some of the worst of my life. Instead of receiving treatment, my mental health significantly declined due to the following issues: Inadequate Medical Oversight: During my entire stay, Dr. Diaz saw me only once. Based on that single brief interaction, I was labeled "extremely depressed" without any further follow-up or nuanced care. Safety and Supervision Failures: The staff appeared to have no control over the environment. I was physically attacked by another patient, and staff were completely unaware of the assault until my roommate left the room to find them. Inappropriate Rooming Assignments: As a 12-year-old, I was required to share a room with two other people, one of whom was only six years old. This child frequently undressed and threw soiled diapers at me. When I raised concerns, I was told I "had to understand," ignoring the fact that I was a child myself in need of a therapeutic environment. If you are considering this facility for your child, please look elsewhere. This was not a place of healing it was a place of chaos, unsafety and neglect (There is so much more horrible things that happened but this is all I will say the food is also trash)
I spent 8 days at 4211 South Avalon Blvd LA, CA 90011. All the workers are kind and nice they let you go outside everyday when ever you like there's a enclosed patio for fresh air which is great. Lot of group activities they let you have a pencil. Nicotine is in a mint like form and food is good 3x/day and have a holistic approach. Overall Good mental health center.
While visiting I had a horrible experience at this health center. An employee named Ikechukwu Elegonye was impatient, rude, and completely lacking in professionalism. Rather than offering care and support, he made the entire visit stressful and uncomfortable. It’s disappointing to see such behavior in a place that is supposed to provide help and compassion. Their attitude and lack of courtesy showed a serious disregard for patients’ needs.
it low-key was good it’s just a staff worker there Mr. Mike is very rude taking kids candy even though some of them are good and don’t even do nothing just for no reason but other than that the Kids that were in there Were cool and chill my best friend was Aden. I miss him so much Miss Sarah is a very nice social worker.💗
Send my mother a referral that was never sent out to the location they “referred her too” had to go back in to ask them to fax the referral to them then called and they stated that was not a referral just a clinic list had to call them to submit a authorization for her to be seen after waiting 50min to get attended from Kendra they stated they had sent referral I asked where because the form they gave her was references as someone who works in the medical field I asked if they could send a tel enc to her provider for authorization stated they had already done a tel Enc to provider and I asked if this was don’t today once my mother went to see them or as we were speaking placed asked for authorization number since they did everything “according” placed me on hold. Referral department will get back to me once they submit an actual referral (1 start for call center horrible) ********************************************* Update referral department did reach out to us quickly and will submit the referral request super friendly and great customer support and answered all our questions (referral department is amazing 5 stars ⭐️ for them) overall
