I’ve been a patient at Native Health for over 5 years. I always have had the best, most top notch care from them since I had been there. Recently, though, their service has definitely lowered when it comes to terms of care to patients and empathy. I had an appointment this last Monday at 5pm. I was called for an appointment reminder a few days to arrive at 5pm. Received the reminder emails and everything. On the day of the appointment I was running late to the appointment and I arrived and checked in by 5:05 pm. After waiting another 5 minutes, I was called by a receptionist at the desk to let me know that I would not be allowed to be seen because I came late to the appointment. I was only late coming from another doctor appointment for possible cancer that day and it was rush hour. This visit was to receive the results of my liver disease and to go over the ultrasounds to see how severe my liver function was going. Kind of an urgent matter. I let them know that I have been late in the past and was told that as long as I arrived 15 minutes within the appointment time, I would be able to be seen and I was only 5 minutes late. The front desk receptionist mentioned that they had canceled that policy. I asked why I was not told this. Considering, I had received reminder phone calls a few days before. He said he would have me to talk to the patient care coordinator. When the patient care coordinator came, he had no idea why he was even speaking to me. The receptionist did not even tell him the issue. The patient care coordinator asked, “Do you guys need help?” At this point I was very annoyed with the way I was being treated. I had to re explain to the patient care coordinator what the issue was since the receptionist did not tell him. The patient care coordinator explained that they had given my time slot to another person because I was 5 minutes late. At this point, I was VERY upset that they had done this. I walked out and my partner that was with me asked if the doctor could call me to go over the results, considering this is a very urgent life or death situation with my liver. He was told they would give me a follow up call and speak to someone about calling me and going over the results. It has been about 3 days now and have received no phone call about this matter. They probably did absolutely nothing. Which is why I have received no phone call or follow up. They were not understanding or empathetic AT ALL towards the fact that this was a liver disease function result appointment. Potential patients, please find another place to get your care. Especially if you are dealing with life or death health issues. They do not provide empathetic or proper care. Save your sanity and find some other place that will be caring and understanding. The fact that this establishment is receiving very low ratings recently is for a reason. They used to have high ratings a few years ago but as of recently, they have been very low. I used to see Dr. Jasmine Samuels and she always gave me great service. I now see Edwige Djassa, FNP-C. She’s been okay. She’s not a horrible provider but I did feel more care with Dr. Samuels but she left the practice. It makes me wonder why she left. It seems like all the great providers have left for a reason and the overall quality of care has lowered. From the front receptionist to some of the doctors. I saw Dr. Loretta McPheeters, PA-C once for my seborrheic dermatitis and she had mentioned it looked like I had “lice.” I thought this was very unprofessional for her to say to me, considering the dermatologist at another establishment diagnosed me with the seborrheic dermatitis which are very different issues. Potential patients thinking about establishing care here, please find another provider and establishment. Save yourself.
I have found that this is a very good health center. The staff the doctors and they have a particularly good chiropractor who really knows what he’s doing so I highly recommend it five stars!
Absolutely horrible customer service from the front desk. The man that works the front desk is extremely rude and made me feel uncomfortable. Also, the staff at this location never answer the phone and if they feel like following up with you, if you leave a voicemail it’ll take more than 3 BUSINESS days for them to give you a call back. 0 stars if I could.
They have no compassion or empathy towards those with mental health issues. needed antibiotics, had really bad anxiety about needing my prescription filled due to my health & just needing antibiotics right away. Had my telegraph appointment, she told me it would be filled that day. I showed up to the pharmacy the next day & it still wasn’t filled. I have an infection, I need antibiotics & anxiety around my health & they’re just playing games & being neglectful. I had to show up physically in office to get this resolved because everyone over the phone is incompetent & literally they don’t care unless you’re in their face directly telling them to do their job. Healthcare system is a joke. They have one job, can’t even do that.
I had a horrible experience during a recent visit with NURSE EDWIGE DJASSA FNP-C and I believe other patients should be aware before seeking care from her as I strongly feel that patients deserve to be treated with basic respect and empathy. I want to caution others before booking with this nurse. Nurse Djassa was rude and dismissive. She talked over me,had an attitude and completely refused to respond to my questions at one point when I asked about my medical history. She pushed back from the start and I had to argue with her to help me. Witnesses had to join my appointment and one of the witnesses was the one who listened, answered my questions, and explained everything to me. My interaction with Djassa felt rushed and resulted in an anxiety attack during and after my visit. I would strongly caution other patients against being seen by this particular nurse. No one should have to fight to be taken seriously when seeking care I’ve had nothing but good experiences at this location. The front desk and all other staff have always been great and helpful. Nurse Djassa is the reason for this poorly rated review.
