we got charged 400 DOLLARS just to talk to a doctor for 5 minutes for her to say she did not know what to do and send us to the ER at anchorage

I have been here a week, and have felt progressively worse. I called the clinic this morning, and they were able to get me in within the hour, they took time asking questions and went the extra mile to make sure I had the best care I could. The entire staff was warm, friendly and very helpful. Fabulous experience from someone away from home and my regular doctor

Unfortunately there aren’t any other options in Girdwood, but in my experience it’s probably better to just drive to Anchorage. I went to this clinic with exposure to covid and severe tonsillitis in March of 2023. The PA I spoke with was short with me and gave me a covid test and strep test, but assured me I didn’t have strep. Lo and behold two days later the strep and tonsillitis were so bad that I had to return to the clinic where I am met with the same rude PA who disinterestedly looks in my throat and says “oh yea you got strep”. Now I am finally able to be prescribed antibiotics, which really would’ve helped in the preceding days. Now months later I get a call saying that I owe almost $600 for these two visits, which included one covid test, one strep test, and maybe 10min of consultation. I no longer live in Girdwood so i gladly won’t have to deal with this establishment again, but I thought by sharing my experience I could help save someone else the waste of time and money.

Had a bad fall on my thumb, called in to see if I could get it looked at, and they fit me in same day promptly. I had an easy mobile-based intake procedure, and left with an awesome heat molded splint (hopefully a radiologist review of the X-Rays shortly :) . In all, the appointment was fast, efficient and the staff were pleasant and kind. Thanks for the help GHC!
