The staff here was lovely, but the billing system was enough to leave me frustrated and in search of a new therapist. I would never be able to suggest coming here in good conscience after the headache I’ve had with that company. They bill through a third party, and are unable to take any payments through their office, while burying the link for the payment website in their site. In February, I received a call that I had an unpaid balance. I had not received any bills since November, and when I tried to contact the third party to figure out what the issue was, I was told they’d been sending me bills and there was no offer to investigate this further, merely an insistence that it was a fault on my end. I was told by APIA to wait two weeks for a balance reduction and a new bill, which never came. I ended up having to contact them for my account number, and checking my balance online manually every single month because I was still not receiving bills. I had not moved during this time nor changed any contact or payment information at all, and had no issues getting or paying bills up until this point. I was told by both the accounting office at APIA and my therapist that this is an issue multiple people had. Cut to today, I have not been there since June and I cleared my entire account balance at the end of June to make sure I was squared away. Once again, I have not received any bills in the mail. Today I get a phone call that my account is past due once again. I check the charges and one of them is for October, two of them are for December. Checking my insurance dashboard I can see that these claims were processed a long time ago, so why am I now getting the bill? Suddenly I am being burdened with paying for my new therapist as well as therapy I received almost a year ago at this point, with no prior notification that I owed anything. Although my experience at APIA therapy wise was fine, it has been entirely tainted by their unprofessional third party payment system. I really hope they transition to a company that is actually able to ensure people get their bills in the future.

APIA is terrific, staff is always smiling and friendly. My therapist is competent and helpful and I'm also involved with the Art therapy group. Would definitely recommend them.
