Went here because I had a hole open up on my back. I told the doctor I just finished treatment 3 months prior for stage 3c1 cervical cancer. She then proceeds to make me an appointment to see the gynecologist there. Asked when the last time I seen one. I was confused and really didn’t answer her because I told her I just got done with chemo and radiation for stage 3cervical cancer. I thought it was strange to go see a gynecologist. But thinking she is the doctor i went to the appointment. The last time I went there I saw Monica Taylor. I told the woman that does the weight and stuff in the gynecology also i have just finished treatment for stage 3c1 cervical cancer. She looks at me like I have 3 heads. Gives me a dressing gown. Im sitting in this gown and in walks a male gynecologist with what appears to be an overgrown 12 year old boy who im assuming is an intern?? I don’t know. It’s hard for me to sit and I tell him im recovering from stage 3c1 cervical cancer. He tells me he can’t see me. Says it in a “duh” kinda laughs way. I was thinking the same. Talk about feeling uncomfortable and dumb. I mean having a male gynecologist is okay but then for two males to be in the room with you, you have on nothing but a paper gown on is very uncomfortable. There should at least be a female also in the room. You think the doctor who made me the appointment would have known if im getting treatment for stage 3cervical cancer im getting regular pelvic exams OBVIOUSLY. Between them and the Mitchell cancer institute I feel like I’m better off using Google as my doctor. Here it is a year later and I still have some sort of internal infection that every doctor dismisses and acts like im trying to get pain pills. I have given up. I get the chills and my temp drops to 96. Something. I feel horrible. The past two weeks have gotten significantly worse. It’s hard for me to walk. But im making it all up. I feel like a shark has taken a bite out of my rear end. I just don’t have it in me to beg for help anymore.
To say I've grown up going here and there are some really nice and amazing people here, I wouldn't recommend it. The few times I've gone here in my adult life id have to say they have left me mind blown and not in a good way. There seems to be No doctor patient confidentiality. I went for a OBGYN visit and upon me leaving and not making it far down the road a family member who works there was able to tell me in detail why I was there and that EVERYONE WORKING THERE KNEW WHY I HAD VISITED and it was not a visit that required multiple people helping me. Just the norm, nurse that asks a few questions then the doctor comes thats it but the whole clinic knew. On another visit just to show some of the familiar people my kid, someone randomly and proudly brought up my children race. Saying '"Your kids father is white white, right?". And if you know you the area and how sly and some very openly racist they are. Why do you ask and what does it matter. Very disappointing.
My initial encounter with Bonnie Pickett, NP was a very pleasant experience. She was personable and very nice. She was going to order "some labs" and prescribe " something FDA approved " for my hot flashes. Medication was never sent to my pharmacy. The initial lab work was missing a lipid profile. I thought it was important for the provider to establish the lipids baseline, so I scheduled a second appointment a month later to follow up on my labs and medication that I never received. This time I requested lab and medication specifically. Miss Bonnie was nice and helpful. It wasn't until I got my insurance claim indicating my lab services were denied that I found out I have to pay over 300$ for routine labs that are supposed to be covered. After multiple calls between lab and insurance, I found out that Miss Pickett (or her staff) coded wrong lab orders. Next, I called the Mostellar billing department to resolve my issues. T. Warren was the contact person. Not just that she took more than a week to return my call ( after my second time calling), but she also didn't want to be bothered with my issues- she referred me to Mostellar billing company, Medsys Consulting. After I told her that Medsys doesn't deal with lab billing ( which I suspect that she knew already), she agreed to address the issue. I visited many doctor offices but I never dealt with such as unprofessional providers. As a health care professional myself (nurse), I would describe this as a substandard level of care, poor costumer services and would not recommend this place to anyone. I'm not gonna be back either. PS. I left voicemail to the business office member to file a complaint ( Miss Tillman?), but never heard back from her either.
